Yes, I did mean to put this in General Gaming. There is now an SCP game. I don't know anything else, because the download hasn't even finished yet, but I'm already scared shitless.
A closed door. If you turn around at the start of the game, it’ll be the last thing you see before you begin your descent in this bizarre and unnerving – or, perhaps, just lengthy and boring – staircase simulator.
It’s based on a fantastically weird internet Wiki that I’ll say no more about, in case you’re not aware of it. Seek out The SCP Foundation if you’re interested. I’d recommend going into SCP-087 blind if possible, though. If you do, you’ll be left either bored rigid, or scared stiff.
Know that something happens. Eventually. It could take a minute, it could take an hour. If you’re fond of the deliciously creepy, play as much as you can manage – whether that’s to the ‘end’ or not – then hit up SCP for some chillingly brilliant tales.
EDIT: oh jesus i went down the first flight of steps and i don't know if i can do this oh god oh god oh god
EDIT EDIT: holy mother****ing shitcocks I am never doing that again ever ****ing hell. Amnesia has got nothing on this.
I walked down nine levels before I just got completely fed up with the god-awful completely horrible mouse controls. I imagine it's what being drunk is like, which would explain why you didn't warn me about them as such movement would be a daily fact of life for you.
Went down a bit over fifty flights before spoiler:
I saw the face.
Then I was just like "Nope." Quit out of it for now. I suppose I'll venture further some other time. At least spoiler:
it never showed up behind me when I turned around. Yet?
(Spoiler tags because I guess those count as spoilers? Right? )
spoiler:
I never saw the face. I'm not going to say what did happen, but it happened on floor 30.
Interesting non-spoilery point, though: when it happened, I did two things. First of all, I screamed like a little girl. Secondly, and perhaps interestingly, I involuntarily held down the left mouse button and did not let go. It was only after the window closed that I realised I was doing it. My brain is absolutely programmed, when startled, to start shooting. And I didn't even have a gun. I wonder if that utter lack of any kind of defence was part of what made this so terrifying.
By the way, TK, if you aren't used to inverted mouse controls, it's because you're not a real man.

What? No. Screw the fact that it was inverted. Apparently I am so used to that, that I didn't even notice. No, the issue was that the damn thing wouldn't turn properly. Sometimes I'd turn halfway, sometimes I'd have to do a 270 degree turn, and the whole thing was nothing but a series of turns so I was ugh ugh UGH. Horrid.
Got down to the 79th flight before spoiler:
seeing the face again. I'm actually wimping out -- my sister is with me, haha. But we agreed that we'd quit out again if we saw the face. Not moving toward that thing, haha.
I'll have to try again later for it.
And now my older sister will be giving it a go, while we watch. FAMILY FUN
Okay, I tried it again. Still turny-weirdness, but this time I was prepared and able to compensate for it. (Also, what? It's not inverted mouse. There's not even an option to make it so. ) Anyways, by all accounts including certain spoilers in this topic, something big happens? I went down 100 floors before stopping, with a number of small things going on, some of which may or may not have been all in my head I'm not sure, but nothing big.
I've been reading around, and if you reach the event that closes your game, then I think that's it. But there appear to be other versions, at least -modified- by other people, with additional content?
That's what I've read so far, but. I'd say the biggest part of this one in particular is just the atmosphere, which is enough for me. I'm very easily immersed.
