So, my earlier attempt to translate the Iliad into alliterative meter is kind of on hold, because it is a very large project.
HOWEVER
I would like to try doing the same sort of thing, only backwards. I'm going to take Virgil's Fourth Eclogue - the one Christians stupidly thought was about Jesus but was actually about one of Augustus' nephews - and translate it into as many different English verse forms as I can, from a literal word for word cheat sheet translation to a bug**** crazy abstract postmodern alphabet soup. It will be fun times.
