Another Cool Thing: No Fairy
Judging from the trailer, there doesn't appear to be a fairy companion in this game. So unless that train starts talking to Link, we may actually have a sidekick-less Zelda on our hands! This would be the first since before Ocarina of Time! I'd be thrilled with this, actually.. although it seems to be such a staple part of Zelda games now, I wonder if they'd really drop it from this game.

No fairy again, but the fairy is still the thing that shows where you're pointing in case you're blind. Watch when Link uses his MT to hold that boss' aggro and he runs behind it, you clearly see that the fairy shows where he is running.

Well, the fairy did help me somewhat when I took extended breaks (read: 2 months) from the game and I had no clue what's going on, and it told me what the deal is.
Still though, a partner-less Zelda is something I'd be interested in.

Re: Another Cool Thing: No Fairy
Though they can be useful at times, I feel the sidekicks detract from the importance of townspeople and other supporting characters, and they seem to have a tendency to help a little too much.
ifm: I see the glitter trail, but there doesn't appear to be any actual fairy in that trail.

Re: Another Cool Thing: No Fairy
Navi could be helpful.. but she'd often make inane comments (like telling you to press the A button to open a door). I think the fairy in PH would generally give you meaningful hints, except I feel that it was just too helpful in a game that was already not that challenging.
I can understand the developers wanting to avoid alienating new players just for the sake of providing a challenge to experienced Zelda veterans, but I wish there was some sort of difficulty setting so you could actually pick a level of difficulty that works for you.

Very this. That's the only time I care about what they're saying. And while I was Young Link, I never even bothered with her; I asked Saria because she's better looking.

Did we learn nothing from wind waker? Nintendo must give you some annoying thing to talk to, and its not like Link would avoid talking to intimate objects. From the king of red lions, to any given statue he will seriously talk to any body.

Re: Another Cool Thing: No Fairy
Navi got annoying after a while. Tatl wasn't so sad at saying stuff all the time, so I thought she was kind of cool, but no sidekick would be cool. Maybe this could make the game actually difficult.
