When heroes are tired of saving the world, what do they do? If they just sit around, then why don't they just go home and pretend like nothing happened? Back to what I was going to say, Link didn't feel up to challenge Ganondorf yet so he decided to look for golden bugs for that self-proclaimed princess. He is also very stubborn if he thinks someplace has a piece of heart and will try endlessly to get it. I would do that if a chest had something valuable too.
