well idk about you guys but when I cook I basically just throw things in an iron pot and hum to myself for a few seconds and then it's dinnertime
I fucking love the cooking system in this game, though. It is actually not that different to my own methods, as I also often throw what seem like might be complementary ingredients together and see what happens
Yeah, that's pretty horrible. I've never tried cooking a fairy because I thought it would be too cruel.
Cooking in BotW is a fun addition that played well to the other mechanics. However, in practice, I found that the elaborate recipes weren't really worth the time/effort. Pretty much you just need a few simple recipes to help you deal with hot or cold climates, and then a ton of Hearty-based and Endura-based items to boost your health and stamina. Everything else felt unnecessary.
I wouldn't be upset if they kept cooking in the future and refined the idea further.
I've played this game too much. The last time I went to the local Zaxby's I noticed they had "spicy fried mushrooms" on the menu, so I had to order them in case they increased my cold resistance.
On another note, I think Nintendo has noticed the concerns about cooking fairies. Recently I noticed the little gameplay tips thing that shows during loading specifies that the fairy "helps you cook" instead of being cooked into the dish.
