RULES:

Playing OoT Jeopardy

1) Anyone can join Jeopardy at any time, whether it's free Jeopardy or Jeopardy with a host.

2) Players may only post one question at a time, until the host tells them that they are wrong.
Example: 3) Even if someone tells you that your question has been asked already, you may not change your question to say something else, delete your question and post a new one, or post a new question unless the host tells you that you are wrong. It's your own fault for not noticing that the question had already been asked (please see #4 for more information). There are no exceptions.

4) If, for a single answer, a question is asked three times or more, the host will deduct points from the member who asked the question the third time, as well as from each member who asks the question again each successive time.
Example: *Note that the host only deducts points from players who repeat the exact question three or more times. Player #9 asked, “What is a Fire Keese?”, which is a different question than “What is a Keese?”; therefore, Player #9 doesn’t get any points deducted.

Free Jeopardy

5) Free Jeopardy is defined as follows: a player poses an answer, and other players attempt to correctly question it. The player who initially posed the question is allowed to give a prize to the player who correctly questions it, but is not obligated to do so. Free Jeopardy is very informal and casual, and anyone may pose answers or questions at any time. Free Jeopardy may be started or stopped at any time, even while a game is going on. However, if a free Jeopardy is going on at the same time that a hosted Jeopardy game is going on, players who are questioning either the free Jeopardy answer or the hosted Jeopardy answer must designate in their post which question is being asked for the hosted Jeopardy and which question is being asked for the free Jeopardy.

Format of OoT Jeopardy Posts

6) Please put "answers" in question form. Or, question answers in question form. (Gotta love the Jeopardy lingo!)

7) You MUST have a "?" at the end of your questions! Yes, we are picky!!

8) No players are allowed to change their questions by editing or deleting their posts. Once you put down a question, that is your question until the host says that it's wrong. Likewise, hosts are also not allowed to edit their answers once they have been put down. This is to minimize confusion to both players and hosts. There are NO exceptions to this RULE, even in cases of spelling or grammar errors. To further clarify, any posts containing answers, questions, scoreboards, hints, or a player asking for a certain point total in a certain category (ex: Items for 300) may not be edited under any circumstances.

Popcorn & Prizes

9) No teams are allowed in popcorn battles.

10) You can throw popcorn at anyone/anything as long as you post something meaningful along with it.

11) Prizes can be just about anything and/or from any Zelda game.

Hosting OoT Jeopardy

12) Anyone wishing to be a host must first be approved by at least three other members. Obviously, the consent of the host to be the host is also crucial.

13) Each host may host with their own, unique style, as long as they stay within the boundaries of this set of RULES. Also, it is up to the host as to which categories they wish to include and what will be included in these categories (i.e.: "Items" could be anything from the Inventory Menu to things found in the landscape, like Rupees or pots, depending on what the host decides.) The host has the option of including things only found by using Gameshark or other glitches/cheats/etc. as answers/questions, but they are not required to do so. The host must state these things when they first start their Jeopardy, as well as clarifiying any categories that may be unclear to players.
Example: 14) Hosts will be relieved of their hosting duties only in the following situations:
1. The host asks to no longer be the host.
2. The host is unable to return to the Zeldapower forums for a prolonged period of time (one week or more, unless otherwise specified or an exception is granted by Kaden), due to circumstances in their life that prevent them from coming to the ZP forums, or if they are banned from the forums.
3. The host is asked to be removed by the players, in which case, at least 5 members must be in agreement that the host should be removed.
4. The host does not adhere to these RULES.
*Also, Kaden will have the final decision over a host's removal unless otherwise specified.

15) A host must clarify before they start their Jeopardy game whether or not they will distinguish between the titles of various characters. For example, the host must clarify if they will accept "Who is Ruto?" as an answer, or if they will only accept the more complete answer of "Who is Princess Ruto?" This RULE also applies to other categories, such as places or items. The host must clarify if they will accept partial names or only full names as questions to their answers.

16) All answers that contain something that must be alluded to by the players are valid as long as said allusions are able to be found with the help of simple Internet search. *It is up to the host to ensure that the allusion can be found with a search, and, if asked by the players, must produce a valid source regarding the allusion (ex: posting the URL of the website that specifies what the allusion refers to). If the host is unable to do so, the answer will be voided and a new answer must be given.

17) The amount of point deductions for repeated questions (see #4) is to be determined by the host at the start of the game. The amount must be reasonable according to the point values of the game and is not allowed to be changed once the game has started. This will be known as the “OFFENSE VALUE” and must be posted along with the game board each time it is posted.

18) Any problems that arise within OoT Jeopardy that are not covered by the RULES shall be dealt with at the discretion of the host. However, Kaden, the Almighty Creator of OoT Jeopardy, still has the power to overrule any judgments made by the host.

19) Kaden, the Almighty Creator of OoT Jeopardy, has the power to change any of these RULES with her red marker, and also has the final say of any discrepancies of the RULES or issues brought up within the OoT Jeopardy topic. Any questions regarding the rules or gameplay should be directed to Kaden via this OoT Jeopardy topic or PMs. Also, because of the power that she wields, Kaden is not allowed to take part in votes when it comes to selecting a new host or getting rid of an old one. She is merely in charge of running things and making judgements and tailoring the RULES to perfection.

20) Sikaru and Triforce King are [unofficially] the admin and mod (respectively) for OoT Jeopardy. They are very important people. Please treat them with respect, because they have the power to punish and/or ban you, and are NOT afraid to use this power! Plus, they're just nice people anyway.
