What kind of new console do you think nintendo will make when the gamecube gets old? how do you think it will look? I mean BIG consoles... to your TV.
I'm really looking forward to see it!

My brother said that the next console will be called GCN2 and it will be better than XBox2 and PS3. But my brother is @&$%ed up in the head, and I mean it.

You're pretty close with guessing, GZ! The project title of the new Nintendo is Nintendo9, just like Dolphin was the project title for GameCube (I admit that Nintendo9 sounds a heck of a lot better than Dlophin). Playstation will call their console PlayStation3, a name that was registered almost two years ago.

I doubt that Microsoft will bring out a new console after Xbox, but you never know. I don't think the sales were high enough for Xbox, even with their pricedrop (at least here in Europe). Sony is doing really well here in Europe, along with Nintendo and it's recent super price of €99,-.

Anyway, to get back to topic, I have no idea what the new Nintendo will be called. Nintendo said they will now aim for the older public, no more kiddie stuff. Therefore I can guarantee you that it won't be a cube, nor will it be purple. The name will be 'cooler' and the design will probably look more like a PS2 and Xbox, with a disc tray á la PS2/Xbox instead of the flip-open thingy.

Wether or not Nintendo9 will be able to play DVD/CD-Audio media I don't know is only a thing time will tell us, though I don't think it will. The GameCube has done extremely well without the DVD Video player, which also increases the preformance of the machine itself. Just compair the graphic capabilities of the Cube in a game like Starfox with PS2's power in Final Fantasy X, you'll instantly see that the Cube is just way more powerful (but I think everyone knows this fact already).

I can't wait for E3 2004 when Nintendo reveals more about their next project, especially now they told us it will be just as revolutionary as the SNES was in 1991.

Interesting... I heard the codename is N5, because it's their fifth home console. Whatever it's called, I'm sure it'll be amazing.

I read somewhere that it will be completely different than GC in almost every way.

I bet istead of just upgrading to 256 bits, they'll go the extra mile and go for 512 bits.

btw, Virtual Boy was Nintendo's biggest flop, and therefore never released in Europe. I don't exactly know what it is either, if I recall correctly they were Virtual Reality Goggles or something

Perhaps they should have called it NH5- Nintendo Home 5- instead, then. But either way, I've read in several magazines that the codename is N5.

maybe they aren't counting them as home consoles...maybe they are counting them as Gaming Systems done by nintendo.

and the virtual boy was like gameboy only you played it while wearing goggles...you can see it in SSBM on the shelf in the trophy room.
you may have to set the language to japanese for it to be there though

Virtualboy was (as said allready) a 32 bit 3D version of Gamboy. It had surround sound. It could only show black and shades of red. It might have a chance of causing blindness. It only had like 5 games. In my entire life, I've only met one person who owned one.
