A new thread for posting my new drawings and other related art.

I've updated the design for Selene a bit. Yes, she's still scantily clad...but I've changed her top a bit, there's a few extra straps on it now so it would technically actually work in the real world.

Be fair, though. Her bust has diminished from the Ryu average of DD down to a modest C. This is progress.

While she's still sort of a typical leather and skulls slave girl, she isn't comically busty anymore, and the anatomy is good.

But other than predictable clothing, your anatomy is better, and shading and stuff in them.

Spontaneous suggestion to Ryu-Gi: before drawing anything else, try making your next ten sketches of any subject, all unique from one another, all without human beings in them at all. Do something new and interesting.

Your proportions have gotten a lot better, though he legs seem like they're a bit too thin/muscle-less to offer any kind of support. However, she still isn't sexy at all. Nothing is left to the imagination, so there isn't really anything to fantasize about when you look at her. You portray her as a sex object - there's no possible way you can deny this so don't try it - so at least make her sexy in a less overt way.

Her hair is the best thing about that picture.

EDIT: And after I'm done drawing porn, I'll do another Selene design for fun.

Actually my latest character design was done with avoiding those cliches as often as I could. Once I have that drawing finished I'll post it...

I'm only noticing slight improvements. Bust size is down a wee bit, but not enough to make it seem realistic. The perceived enhanced quality to her bra is minimal; it's is still just a reason to not draw nipples.
The whole crotchal area is reminiscent of Alexstrasza:

Alexstrasza is the dragon queen so she can do whatever the **** she wants and no one will question her. Besides, her outfit doesn't need to be functional. The only time she goes out to do something, she turns into a dragon.

Ok, here's my redesign:

As you can see, she's mostly covered and her outfit is slightly more modest. The reason I did this is because your design is way revealing/sexy/whathaveyou. It also has WAY too much going on. There's no focus and it's like you took every type of genre an outfit could be from and mashed them all together. However, I did keep the belt and choker that you did, and centered the rest of her outfit around them.

Now, while Selene is now mostly covered, you'll notice there's a slit at the top of her tunic showing a bit of cleavage, as well as her back being more or less exposed. Also, you can't really tell because it isn't colored, but her "pants" are actually chap-like things. The inside of the leg is actually exposed, and she would have that bikini underwear thing you're so fond of. The key is that you can't really tell what's under there exactly. For all the viewer knows, she's going comando. In short, he outfit has been simplified and looks more cohesive.

Another reason why I made her more covered is because, well, I think she had a really traumatic past being a sex slave and all, and so after getting away from all that, the last thing someone would want to do is revisit it. Nothing good can be associated with her past, so why should she dress like she's still a slave? You may say it's as a sort of remembrance of that prince guy who abused her, so the tunic has a slave-ish feel to it. You don't need to deck her out in funky lingerie to show that. She still looks sexy, but not really in a cheap, "warrior whore" way that was going on before.

Well one of his artistic influences on armor is Soul Calibur.

I really love Fuzzy's redesign, except maybe I'd forgo the hanging cloth below her waist. The whole subligar look isn't so overtly sexual in appearance if you at least dress it a little, which she did with the chaps, and I think it would be more suggestive of her as mobile and dynamic without a cloth in the way of her legs. Just my immediate impression. Above the waist is perfect, though.

I wasn't sure about the cloth thing hanging there, but the point was there's at least some kind of "surprise" with her outfit, lol. Without just having everything hanging out like in her original outift, there's still a little bit left to the imagination.

And I know Soul Calibur is like... I don't know, his go to thing for references, but even those outfits have a focus, I think. Even with Ivy, I think her outfit looks like it was based around her sword - isn't she possessed by her sword too or something? Whatever, they at least "try" to give a reason for why she dresses the way she does.

It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. The reason I hadn't done it before, I guess, is because I thought it would be framing her crotch too much. Maybe I'll color this later lol
