PHinally! ZREO introduces first Phantom Hourglass song
Written by The Teej
Monday, 06 July 2009
ZREO very recently introduced Phantom Hourglass to their massive collection of songs spanning multiple Zeldas. The first song re-orchestrated is Mercay Island, the first island in the game where Link finds Ciela. A fitting tune to re-orchestrate, nonetheless.

For those of you who don't know what ZREO is, ZREO, or Zelda Reorchestrated, are a team of talented musicians and Zelda enthusiasts who recreate the music from multiple Zelda games. So far, they have managed to recreate music from 13 different Zelda games, with Phantom Hourglass being the 13th. They also have a "Soundscapes" section, where they aim to recreate the atmosphere of the area that the song belongs to, alongside the song itself.

Anyway, go listen!

Miyamoto: New Zelda won't be radically different

Aeropause divulges in the latest issue of Nintendo Power that Miyamoto had a few words to say about the new Legend of Zelda coming to Wii. Unfortunately, it's literally just a few words. When discussing Zelda, he stated that "I don’t think it’s going to be that radically different.".

Of course, radically different is such a huge spectrum of ideas. Radically different could mean a brand new storyline formula altogether, perhaps where there is no Ganon/dorf, but radically could also mean that it could be a completely different genre. Presumably, that's what Miyamoto means. However, who really knows?

Pretty amazing, huh? :) But where's Link's sword? And who is the mysterious, blue-ish girl? She looks rather similar to the fairy queen from Wind Waker, actually. We'll just have to wait and find out more! However, we do have a few new bits of information on the game via an IGN interview with Shigeru Miyamoto.

In the interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed a few new bits of information on the mysterious upcoming Zelda game for the Wii. First of all, he noted that the game is in a entirely different era from previous Zelda games. It appears the point he was making was that this isn't "Twilight Princess 2," for example, and he also later makes a point of stating that this game is "completely different" in terms of story from Twilight Princess. Miyamoto also stated that in this game, Link is older and approaching adulthood. He also made note of the fact that Link is not carrying a sword in this artwork. While some have interpreted his comments on this to mean that Link may be swordless in the next game, it's unclear if that was really what he intended by them. It seems especially strange to assume that Link would be swordless, considering the shield he is holding in that image. So many mysteries!

In the interview, Miyamoto also talked a bit about that four-player mode for the upcoming Zelda: Spirit tracks. He stated that it will be somewhat similar to Phantom Hourglass's "tag" multiplayer mode, but with some cooperative elements, and there will also be no sword usage in this mode.

Be sure to read the full interview for more information. Also, as a sidenote, it appears that at E3, Spirit Tracks has been confirmed to take place 100 years after the events of Phantom Hourglass, and Link is an apprentice engineer. We'll continue to bring you news on Zelda Wii and Zelda: Spirit Tracks as it develops.
