Majora's Mask on the Virtual Console in US
Written by Kao
Thursday, 21 May 2009
At long last, Zelda: Majora's Mask has now been released on Wii's Virtual Console here in the United States. You can download it for 1000 Nintendo Points (about $10). As is the case with all N64 games released on the Virtual Console, this release of Majora's Mask features cleaner image quality due to the Virtual Console's subtle smoothing of normally jagged edges.

Majora's Mask was very much in Ocarina of Time's shadow when it first released. It was a great game, but because of how different it was from Ocarina of Time (and indeed any game in the series up to that point, and arguably since), some players didn't respond to it positively. Going on ninte years from its original release, it seems that more and more people have come to give Majora's Mask the appreciation it has always deserved. I feel that more and more, Zelda fans are looking for a Zelda game that plays a bit differently from the well-established Zelda gameplay style. And if there's any one word that describes Majora's Mask best, it would be "different" (in a good way).

To go along with the VC release of the game, we have added a FAQ/guide for the game's Curiosity Shop, submitted to us by ZeldaPower user ZC, to the Majora's Mask section's Walkthroughs page. You can get there through the link, or by going to the Majora's Mask section over on your left.

ZeldaPower Forums Turns 10 Years Old!!
Written by Kao

Going by Aaron Holt (founder of ZeldaPower.com)'s original account registration date of May 13th, 1999, ZeldaPower Forums is now 10 years old!!

Can you believe it? A full decade of forum amazingness here on ZeldaPower! What an achievement!

You know, the ZeldaPower Forums is a pretty special place. Internet forums can quite often be cold, unwelcoming places. But ZP has for so long been a warm, vibrant community of familiar and new faces (now with over 5,000 registered accounts!). It's a place where we can all come together and have a great time.

I have made many friends here on the ZP Forums. These forums and the people on them have changed my life.. in some rather profound ways, actually. I know that there's not another place like ZeldaPower Forums on the whole of the internet. I feel so blessed to have this forum, and all of you, as a part of my life.

If you aren't already registered, you should be! You get to create your own custom user account, post fan art and fan fiction, vote in site polls, and be a part of a Zelda community! Registering your very own user account is completely free and takes just a few minutes. Get registered today!

(Also, I'm sorry if the site was down on the actual anniversary on Wednesday. I'm not sure what was going on, and it took days to get anything done about it!)

(And also, to avoid confusion, ZeldaPower.com is over 11 years old, but it is the forums which have just turned 10.)
