New Zelda Book: The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy
Written by Kao

Do you consider yourself a real Zelda fanatic? Does nothing bring you greater happiness than a philosophical discourse on the Zelda series? Then the upcoming 288-page book The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy is perfect for you! This new book, being released on November 28th, tackles the more philosophical Zelda questions, such as who Link's character truly is, if Zelda can be considered art, how time functions in the Zelda games, and a great deal more.

The book's Amazon.com description reads as follows:
With both young and adult gamers as loyal fans, The Legend of Zelda is one of the most beloved video game series ever created. The contributors to this volume consider the following questions and more: What is the nature of the gamer’s connection to Link? Does Link have a will, or do gamers project their wills onto him? How does the gamer experience the game? Do the rules of logic apply in the game world? How is space created and distributed in Hyrule (the fictional land in which the game takes place)? How does time function? Is Zelda art? Can Hyrule be seen as an ideal society? Can the game be enjoyable without winning? The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy not only appeals to Zelda fans and philosophers but also puts video games on the philosophical map as a serious area of study.

Nintendo news site GoNintendo, which reported on this book earlier, has a few comments about the book from one of its editors.

This definately sounds like something any die-hard Zelda fan would want to look into! I'm sure we'll be covering this book more when it is released this November.

Someone rearranged several tracks of music from the Legend of Zelda series to sound like they come from other games. The results are really impressive! To see exactly what I'm talking about, watch the video below:
