Nintendo has their Fall 2008 Conference, where they showed current and upcoming developments for their Wii and DS platforms. Almost half of the conference was dedicated to the new model of the Nintendo DS: The Nintendo DSi.
As this is just a new model of the DS platform, all your current DS games will of course still play on it. However, the DSi system is a little smaller and lighter than the DS Lite, and has several major technical improvements over its predecessor: Slightly larger screens, a new Wii-like menu interface, built-in software like a photo editor and an audio player, the ability to connect to the Nintendo online shop and download applications and software for free (i.e. web browser and a basic drawing/photo animation program) or with Nintendo Points (which is the new name for Wii Points), two digital cameras (one on the exterior, and one on the interior), SD card support (for music playback, photo storage, downloadable content storage, etc), as well as a few other technical improvements. Unfortunately the DSi will not support GBA games. On the other hand, you can always play your GBA games on a DS Lite, DS original, or a GBA itself!
The Nintendo DSi will launch in Japan the 1st of November, and will appear in other countries sometime in 2009.
Be sure to watch Nintendo's fall conference to learn all about these and many, many more exciting bits of news in the world of Wii and DS! |

3 Pages of The Legend of Zelda Manga, New Poll |

Welcome to another ZP update, everyone. :)
Today we have put up three new recently translated pages of the Legend of Zelda manga from GlitterBerri's blog. Ganon has captured Zelda! Will she be able to survive? The manga can be found in the Comics section on your left.
Also, we have a new site poll asking if you think it would be a good idea to have multiple difficulty settings in future Zelda games. A difficulty setting would allow more advanced Zelda players to have a more challening game experience while not jeopardizing the experience of players who are newer to Zelda games. However, a counter-argument is that Zelda games should present a single gameplay experience to all players and that instead of offering multiple difficulty settings, Nintendo should instead focus on perfecting the balance of that gameplay experience so that it works well for both new and veteran Zelda gamers. What do you think? Place your vote in the site poll on the bottom right and let your voice be heard on the issue!
Here are the results from the previous site poll:

Would You Like to See a Zelda-Themed WiiWare Game?
Yes! I'll take my Zelda in any form.
20.51%
(8 votes)
Maybe, but only if it's something more than a mini-game.
28.21%
(11 votes)
No, I only want large, complete Zelda games to be released.
51.28%
(20 votes)
(39 votes total)

Obviously most people were against the idea of a WiiWare Zelda title being made in any capacity! |

We've got a lot of great stuff updated for you today :)
First off, GlitterBerri has resumed updates to her blog, and she's put up six new pages of the Legend of Zelda Manga, all of which have now been added to ZeldaPower. Things are getting pretty exciting; Zelda and Ganon are facing off! Check out the latest pages by clicking the link, or by going through the Comics section on your left.
Also, the Legend of Zelda Cheats page has been updated with several item-modifying codes submitted to the site by PoundSlug. This is some pretty awesome stuff, so definately give that a look.
And finally, the Fan-Created category of the Videos section has been updated with two new fan videos: a Wind Waker spoof video titled "Trouble with Seagulls," and a video that spoofs the original Legend of Zelda called "The Legend of Neil." Please be warned: the latter video contains a great deal of adult humor and language. |
