Nintendo Power Teaser Possibly Hinting at New Zelda?

The most recent issue of Nintendo Power features the image to the right in their "Next Month" preview of the magazine's next issue.

Beneath the image, the text reads:
"We'll kick off the next 20 years of Nintendo Power with more big reveals, including a top-secret cover story fit for a king. It's got a lot of heart. Just kidding. It's Mother 3. Just kidding. Please look forward to it."

As we can see, the magazine writers jokingly first suggest that the mystery game is a Kingdom Hearts title and then that it is Mother 3. However, there is also the (hopeful) possibility that the sword imagery may actually be hinting at a new Zelda title.

Though the sword doesn't look like the Master Sword the Zelda series is famous for, it's possible that showing a silhouette of such an easily-identifiable sword simply would have made it too obvious of a hint.

If a new Zelda game is to be revealed, it will most likely be shown at Nintendo's event at this years E3, scheduled to take place from July 14th through the 17th. It has been over four years since the last major home console Zelda game (Twilight Princess) was first announced.

Update: The new issue of Nintendo Power is out and it turns out the image was not hinting at a new Zelda game, but rather a new Sonic game called "Sonic and the Black Knight" where Sonic uses a sword. Oh well!
