Nintendo has just recently revealed a redesigned DS: The Nintendo DS Lite.

The DS Lite, which debuts in Japan early this March, will cost about $140. What does this smaller package offer? Well, the new design is smaller and slimmer in all dimensions and weighs less as well.

The biggest change, however, is in the backlighting of the screen. The screen is actually even brighter than ever now, and the player can choose their own level of screen brightness in order to better manage the system's battery life.

There are all sort of other aesthetic changes, of course, such as the placement of the buttons, mic, speakers, and power lights. And the system has made the switch to white plastic, which will work beautifully with your Nintendo Revolution systems!!

A western release is planned for sometime after this spring. The system will debut in Japan with three different colors.
