How to Catch the Hylian Loach
Taken from Translated Interview

When you enter the fishing pond, there is a 1 in 4 chance that the Hylian Loach (which measures from 60-99cm) will appear in the pond.

The Hylian Loach swims in the deepest part of the water, so it is very difficult to catch if you don't have the sinking lure (see the above tip on how to get it).

Turn Any Item Into a Bottle

Go somewhere in the game where you can catch an item in a bottle (i.e. bugs, poes, etc). Equip the bottle and use it. In the middle of the animation of Link swinging the bottle, pause the game, equip another item over the bottle, and unpause. When the animation finishes and Link catched the item in the bottle, it will turn the item you just equipped into a bottle!

Tips on Collecting Skulltulas
By Linko_16

Remembering where you left a Gold Skulltula behind because you couldn't procure the token at the time isn't always easy, but remember that when you look on the world map in the start menu and move the cursor from town to town, areas where you have collected all the Gold Skulltula tokens will have an icon of a Gold Skulltula next to it. That way you can easily tell where you must return to find the remaining tokens. In the case of dungeons, if I remember correctly the Skulltula icon also appears on the map if you've found all the Skulltulas, so you can just pop in real quick and check for the icon to know for sure.

A few other tips for beginners:

If you didn't already know, Gold Skulltulas in outdoor locations (not dungeons or holes in the ground) only appear at night.

Usually the way to look for a Skulltula you're missing is by going to unfinished areas and listening closely for the sound of them scratching around, but there are many instances where you can't rely on your ears. Sometimes Skulltulas hide in unobvious places, such as trees, so if you're stuck, try shaking trees with your roll attack during the night.

Another time when Skulltulas may evade your attention are when they are hiding in those grottos that only appear when bombed or when you play the correct Ocarina tune. It may seem like you'd never know where these secret holes in the ground may be, but make sure you have your Stone of Agony equipped, a prize that the Skulltula family in Kakoriko gives you for collecting so many tokens. It will cause the controller to vibrate when you're above such a hole, so if you feel it go off, investigate. If you're on the N64 and don't have a rumble pack, well, your only alternative in such a case would be to perhaps resort to an FAQ, a habit I would normally scorn, but I understand that sometimes you have no choice.

You can also collect a secret Gold Skulltula from each patch of soft soil in the game. By catching bugs in jars and releasing them next to soft soil, they will enter it, "breed," and produce a complimentary Gold Skulltula for you.
